It Was 48 Years Ago This Year…

On 15 December 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, along with their “Plastic Ono Band“, attended a charity event – “Peace for Christmas” – at the Lyceum Ballroom in London which included several other rock groups… Prior to the London event, while in Toronto, John and Yoko had huge banners and billboards erected in 12 major cities stating: “War is Over! If you want it. Happy Christmas from John & Yoko“.
In 1971 John created the song “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)“.
